About Your Business
Can you tell us all about your business and what inspired you to start it?
My name is Denise and I found a passion for sewing and a skill I didn’t know I had quite randomly. I bought a sewing machine when my daughter was a baby to try and make some things as my mum is an amazing sewer. I was hooked straight away and made bunting and décor then rag dolls which because a business for a few years. My badges were something which I made alongside but soon became really popular and over took the dolls.
How do you come up with ideas for new products?
I love browsing fabric and trends on Pinterest they can inspire me or seeing sewing patterns that catch my eye.
What is your favorite product that you have created?
I love making my glitter star badges they are just so sparkly. All of my Christmas decorations also make me smile.
What do you enjoy most about running your business?
Seeing reviews from my lovely customers and photos of their little people who have been able to choose fabric they like and any colour as the sky is really the limit. Knowing you are helping make someone’s day extra special is the best part.
What do you think is the most challenging part of running a business?
Finding time when you are a busy mum to do all the things I would like and new designs. Keeping organised.
The Design Process
How did you discover Design Pixie?
As my designs evolved into more party or occasion themed my branding wasn’t really matching the feel of my shop so I came across the lovely logo on Etsy. I loved the fact that everything was there that I might need to carry my look across all platforms.
What specific products of ours have you used for your business branding?
I have bought virtually everything in the theme! I started with the logo, Etsy shop templates and the instagram stories and highlight covers. Then the thank you notes, sticker templates and more graphics for my daily posts.
What was your experience like using the templates?
They are always super easy to use and edit and always look so professional. It used to be so hard to create graphics when you hadn’t any design experience but these are set up so even a beginner can edit with ease.
Impact on Your Business
How have the new products you purchased from us impacted your business or brand visibility?
I think they have really helped me to stand out and my Etsy shop looks really attractive, you do need to have a shop to attract buyers in. From their initial purchase to receiving their order with matching stickers and thank you notes ties it all together and makes it more memorable.
Have you received any feedback from customers/friends/family about your new branding?
Customers love the new look and are all very fond of pastels!
In what ways do you feel the design now better reflects your brand?
It has all the party and special occasion elements and colours that I really wanted.
Advice for Others
Do you have any tips for fellow small business owners who are looking to improve their branding?
I think branding is so important, it helps customers see that you are taking it seriously and you are easily recognisable. Use branding in all areas from socials to Etsy to give a coherent brand.

It is affordable and super easy to use in Canva, it’s a really important investment worth spending time and money on.

What’s next for your business? Are you planning any new products?
I am excited that I am having my first stall at a charity Christmas Night and currently working on lots of new festive products for this. I am also focusing on adding lots of new gift and birthday related products to my shop to go with the range of badges.
